Freezing Temperatures Arrive In Charlotte This Weekend

CHARLOTTE, NC —Freezing temperatures are likely in store this weekend for the Queen City. There are two cold fronts bringing the cooler weather to the southeast.

Expect to see temperatures at freezing level on Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service. Accuweather predicts temps could dip a couple degrees below freezing!

It will warm up on Sunday back to the mid 50s before sinking to roughly 38, or above freezing Sunday night.

Forecasters say it's just a preview of things to come -- go ahead and make sure you have a plan to protect pipes, plants and people for the winter weather sure to come.

• Check tire pressure, antifreeze levels, heater/defroster, etc. in your car.
• Learn how to shut off water valves for potential pipe bursts.
• Cover outdoor pipes with fittings you can get at home improvement stores.
• Check on the elderly and make sure they have a way to stay warm.
• Bring plants and pets inside.
