Here are the top three stories in Charlotte today:

  1. Charlotte gas prices fell this week. The average price of gas in Charlotte is now $3.42 per gallon — eight cents lower compared to last week. The gas price in Charlotte has declined for the last 13 weeks. California Gasoline supply issues are causing forecasts to be unreliable, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.(WBTV)
  2. North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper toured Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' Allenbrook Elementary School on Monday. During the tour, the governor distributed school supplies collected through the Governor's School Supply Drive. The U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten joined the tour.   3. The Charlotte Area Transit System will be piloting an on-demand micro-transit service in 2023. Customers will be able to hail a ride in five different zones throughout the area. The service will be requested through an app. The system has not selected the company that will be supplying the drivers and vehicles. (Axios Charlotte)
