Homicide Investigation Underway Near UNC Charlotte Campus
CMPD is investigating a death near UNC Charlotte.
CHARLOTTE, NC — UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Quantae Young, DOB: 10/25/2002.
ORIGINAL: Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 1100 block of Gold Rush Boulevard in the University Division.
Shortly before 12:10 a.m., officers responded to reports of assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound outside of the apartment building. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
