  1. Local meteorologists report that the Charlotte area will see minimal to no effects from Hurricane Earl. The hurricane, which formed in the Caribbean, will be hitting the Northern Atlantic this weekend and may develop into a Category 3 storm. Despite the fact that Earl is not expected to make landfall in Charlotte, experts warn that it could lead to "rough surf" and an increased rip current risk at Carolina beaches this weekend. (Charlotte Observer)
  2. SCarowinds is returning to Charlotte's Carowinds amusement park on Sep. 16. The popular spooky attraction will run through Sunday, Oct. 30. This year's event will feature a new maze and all-new scare zones. Click for tickets. (WWAY NewsChannel 3)
  3. A new report issued by WalletHub indicates that Charlotte is the most diverse city in North Carolina.
