🌱 I-85 Widening Project + Festival In The Park Returns

Here are the top three stories in Charlotte today:
- A project that would widen I-85 between Charlotte and the North Carolina/South Carolina border is under review. The project has been awarded $100 million by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The interstate would be widened from 6 lanes to 8 lanes with sidewalks, bike lanes, and multi-use paths planned. The project's start date has not yet been announced. (Fox 46 Charlotte)
- Charlotte's Festival in the Park returns today at Freedom Park. The event will include beer and wine for the first time. There will also be expanded food options available. More than 200 visual artists will have work on display. The festival will run through Sunday. (Charlotte Observer)
