Man Involved In Fatal Officer Crash Formally Indicted
Daniel Leon Morgan, 50, will appear in court on charges his actions led to the death of a Charlotte police officer.
UPDATE: He was formally indicted on charges.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Daniel Leon Morgan, 50, will appear in court Monday for the first time, according to multiple local media outlets.
Morgan was driving an 18-wheeler on I-85 in December when he came upon another wreck. Officer Mia Goodwin had responded to that earlier wreck.

Morgan then failed to move left to a single open lane on Interstate 85 South, and collided with police cruisers, including Goodwin's. Goodwin was killed.
Morgan is charged with involuntary manslaughter, misdemeanor death by vehicle, failure to reduce speed and felony failure to move over for stopped emergency vehicles.

He was released on bond in December.
