Man Leads Police On Chase After Abducting Woman, Police Say
The man was found dead inside the vehicle following the police chase.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A woman was pulled forcefully into a car and taken along on what became a violent chase involving Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, according to the department.
Just before 9 p.m. Wednesday night, police responded to a domestic violence call where the unnamed woman was pulled into a car on Shamrock Drive. The driver left the scene, but police had the vehicle description and cameras through the Real Time Crime Center found it.
Police say they tried to pull the car over, but the driver took off, and police used their Snoopy helicopter to help pursue the car. The car stopped on Shamrock Drive suddenly, and police found the driver inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The suspect was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.
Police are not looking for any additional suspects.
