Mecklenburg Coronavirus: Aquatic Center Employee Tests Positive
The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Facility will be closed until Aug. 17 after its fifth employee tested positive for the coronavirus.
MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NC — A fifth employee of the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the county announced in a release Wednesday.
During the closure, aquatic center staff will self-isolate and the facility will be deep cleaned and disinfected, the county said. At this time, it's not believed that any patrons of the facility were exposed to the virus.
The Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center, meanwhile, will remain open, the county said.
