NASCAR Partners With Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber Of Commerce
The partnership includes programming and training to educate on diversity and inclusion.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce announced a partnership with NASCAR recently, the first of its kind.
NASCAR will be the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce's diversity, equity and inclusion partner for all of 2022. The partnership and funds associated with it support training and programming to educate on those three initiatives.
“NASCAR has a rich history in our region and continues to be one of the most popular sports in the
nation,” said Tiffany Keaton, Vice Chair of the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce.

“The intentionality of their partnership will allow the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber to leverage relationships and increase our work in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion," she continued.
NASCAR, based in Charlotte, issued a statement looking forward to the partnership and related programming.

“We look forward to working with CLGBTCC in support of its mission to foster equity, inclusion and economic prosperity for the LGBTQ community," said said Brandon Thompson, Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion.
Stephen Rhodes was the first openly LGBT driver in NASCAR in the early 2000s but only ran a few races.
Now, Devon Rouse is the only openly LGBT driver within the ranks, and hopes to break down barriers himself and promote inclusion within the series.
