NC State Inspectors Checking Out Beech Mountain Ski Resort

Two people were hospitalized after a hydrant broke and high-pressured water hurt them.

NORTH CAROLINA — The North Carolina Department of Labor is inspecting Beech Mountain Ski Resort after an incident that sent two people to a hospital, according to multiple local news stations.

Avery EMS took the two injured people to a local hospital for treatment after a fire hydrant burst, sending high-pressured water shooting straight up into the ski lift, per WCNC.

The North Carolina Department of Labor will look into the incident, according to their report.

According to the local newspaper the Watauga Democrat, both people injured are expected to be okay.
