NC's Samaritan's Purse Deploys Medical Aid For Ukraine
Samaritan's Purse is a Christian relief organization that provides disaster relief assistance. It is sending a field hospital to Ukraine.

NORTH CAROLINA — Samaritan's Purse has its headquarters in North Carolina, but its reach is global. The Christian relief organization is deploying disaster response aid to Poland and Romania in wake of the Russian invasion into Ukraine.
According to the organization, they have conducted rapid needs assessments in countries neighboring Ukraine and then tackle how best to use their resources there and in Ukraine itself.
One of the resources at hand is their emergency field hospital, transported on a DC-8 aircraft.

The field hospital will first be deployed to Poland then be transported to Ukraine where it will provide specialized trauma care to people impacted by the conflict. This unit will have the capacity to treat more than 100 patients each day, and it will be made up of 30 in-patient beds, an operating room and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
A 747 jet is expected to fly to the area next week to carry supplies for the field hospital as well as two additional clinics. The field hospital was last used in 2021 in Haiti to help in earthquake aftermath.

“Ukrainian families are hurting and in desperate need of physical aid and prayer during this difficult time,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse. “We are deploying life-saving medical care to aid people who are suffering. We want to meet the needs of these families in their darkest moments while pointing them to the light and hope of Jesus Christ.”
Samaritan's Purse is also in close communication with partner churches and organizations in Ukraine to prepare and implement a strategic disaster response. The organization works with more than 3,000 churches across Ukraine, and is in the process of distributing over 600,000 gift-filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes for children through those churches and ministry partners according to the organization.
