North Charlotte Homicide Victim Identified: CMPD

A 29-year-old man was shot and killed in north Charlotte Monday evening, CMPD said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A homicide investigation is underway after a 29-year-old man was shot and killed in north Charlotte Monday evening.

According to a police report, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department received an emergency call shortly before 7 p.m. reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 6400 block of West Sugar Creek Road.

When officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot. The victim, who was later identified as Ryan Devon Autry, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene, CMPD said.

"Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence," CMPD said.
