Police Identify Man Fatally Shot Near West Charlotte Park
An investigation is underway after a 33-year-old man was found shot in west Charlotte Wednesday night. Here's what police are saying.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police have launched a homicide investigation after a 33-year-old man was shot in a west Charlotte apartment complex near Pressley Road Neighborhood Park Wednesday evening.
Officers from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Pressley Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday evening following an emergency call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon.

When they arrived, they located a man with a gun shot wound. The victim, who was later identified as Michael Camp, 33, was transported to Atrium Main for treatment. He "succumbed to his injuries a short time later," CMPD said in a statement.
CMPD said the investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
