Shooting In Uptown Charlotte Results In Quick Arrest: Police

The shooting happened at Trade Street and Tryon Street.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Mecklenburg Police officers witnessed a shooting and were able to arrest the shooter within minutes, according to the police.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, but police say they have not located any victims. A black sedan was shot at; police say if you see a black vehicle with bullet holes to please call 911.

It happened at the corner of Trade Street and Tryon Street in Uptown. Officers did not have to fire their weapons during the incident.

Officers want the public to know the area is safe now, but again if anyone has information related to the shooting or evidence, to please come forward.

The cross-section of Tryon and Trade will be closed until the investigation is complete, but officers are working quickly to reopen it.
