Here are the top three stories today in Charlotte:
- The Crime Stoppers police department is asking for information on a man in a UNC Tar Heels gear who stole money from a popular southwest Charlotte restaurant. A man was caught on video stealing money from Skyland Family Restaurant on South Blvd. on Apr. 28. If anyone has information about the theft, call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600. (Newsbreak)
- One person was killed on Wednesday in a deadly crash on I-485. The crash shut down a portion of I-485 in northeast Charlotte. As of the time of publication, North Carolina State Highway Patrol has not determined the cause of the crash. (WCNC.com)

- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is kicking off its community engagement process for the FY 2024 to 2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This five-year program will fund major renovations and construction projects for all types of park and recreation facilities. (Facebook)
- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was the recipient of three awards at this year’s Southeastern Crime Stoppers Association Conference. The awards included: the Media of the Year award, Bird Peacock Lifetime Achievement award, and the Productivity award. (Facebook)
