Snow Round 4? Small Chance In The Weather Forecast For Davidson

DAVIDSON, NC — For the fourth week in a row, there is a chance of Mr. Jack Frost making an appearance in the Lake Norman area.

The National Weather Service calls for a small chance of rain Thursday and a greater likelihood of precipitation on Friday, but we could see wintry mix going into Sunday.

The story Thursday and Friday is likely just rain.

Thursday, the National Weather Service says to expect a 40 percent chance of showers before 3 p.m. with temperatures near 66. In the morning, new rain amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.

Thursday night though, expect wind gusts as high as 25 mph and a chance of precipitation at 80 percent. The amount expected is between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain.

Friday is much of the same, again with a high near 66 degrees, positively balmy. Chance of precipitation is back to 90 percent, with new precipitation amounts between a quarter and a half an inch possible of rain.

This is much different than the past three weekends when there was visible snow and ice in abundance, some places seeing multiple inches of the frozen white stuff in their backyards.

Temperatures are warmer this time, and that's not conducive to another winter wonderland.

The greatest chance to see anything wintry is Saturday night or Sunday, with major models disagreeing on the timing. Even then, it would just be snow mixed with rain.
