Man In Violent Kidnapping Video Arrested, Victim Safe, Per CMPD

Police say the graphic video depicted an act of domestic violence.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Mecklenburg Police have arrested Louis Lamontrez Meadows, the man they say was the perpetrator in the graphic video depicting a kidnapping and assault. CMPD released that video to the public to help identify the aggressor and the victim seen in a violent struggle before she was dragged away to a car.

On December 16, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the North Carolina DMV Incident Management Assistance Patrol (IMAP) located the vehicle shown in the video and requested officers' assistance.

Steele Creek officers responded and upon their arrival, they located both the victim and Meadows. Meadows was immediately taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant and transported to the LEC for an interview. Following his interview with detectives, Meadows will be charged with 1st Degree Kidnapping and Assault on a Female.

The victim has since been transported to a safe location. It has been determined that this incident involved domestic violence, according to CMPD.
