  1. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has issued an apology after an individual was arrested for wearing a knife in the student union. The individual is a follower of the Sikh religion and the knife is known as a kirpan, an article of faith. The individual was arrested by campus police after a 911 call was placed. (WSOCTV)
  2. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred near 12000 Deaton Hill Dr. on Friday night. An individual was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds and medics pronounced him dead on the scene. The department has not released information regarding an arrest, a motive, or the victim's identity. (My Fox 8)
  3. On Saturday, Charlotte's Keith Family YMCA unveiled a new adaptive playground on Old Mallard Creek Road. The playground includes a selection of sensory play pieces, wide ramps, and diverse spaces. The new adaptive playground is part of the organization's inclusive programming expansion in the Greater Charlotte area. (WCNC)
