Here are the top three stories today in Charlotte:
- Charlotte's 19th Annual Wine & Food Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1. The festival will be held at Symphony Park at South Park Mall between noon and 6:00 p.m. The festival will offer a selection of local and international wines for participants to test. - Charlotte's Timothy Herron has been sentenced to over 19 years in prison. The sentence was issued on Tuesday by the Western District of North Carolina. The 48-year-old drug dealer has a criminal history of drug-related charges and pleaded guilty to distributing heroin and cocaine through the Charlotte area. (Fox 46 Charlotte)
- A number of Charlotte-area schools were evacuated on Tuesday morning due to bomb threats. Mooresville High School, Cox Mill Elementary, Cox Mill High, Northwest Cabarrus High, and Jay M. Robinson High School were evacuated after threats were issued. The evacuations were due to an abundance of caution, according to the school district. (WRAL News)
