Woman Sexually Assaulted After Carolina Panthers Game: CMPD
The woman was assaulted early Friday morning after attending a game at the Bank of America Stadium, police said.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A sexual assault investigation is underway in Charlotte after a woman was attacked while walking down West Morehead Street after a Carolina Panthers game at Bank of America Stadium, police said Friday.
According to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of West Morehead Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday. The assault occurred in a wooded area next to the railroad bridge in that area, police said.
"Officers arrived and spoke with an adult female, who stated after attending the Carolina Panthers game at Bank of America Stadium, she was walking on W. Morehead Street when she was approached by a suspect who sexually assaulted her," a CMPD report said. "The victim gave a limited suspect description, identifying the suspect as a black male who appeared homeless and wearing a light-colored top."

CMPD is asking anyone who may have information about the suspect or incident to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
