Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- On Monday night, The Marietta City Schools Board of Education met to listen to community concerns regarding the vote for Superintendent Will Hampton’s contract. The board previously renewed Hampton's contract in error without discussion. After hearing from the community, the board voted to renew Hampton’s contract again. (Marietta Times)
- Jessica Renee Crabtree was sentenced to 60 days in jail for trafficking a fentanyl-related compound. Crabtree and William J. Saylor are accused of supplying drugs to Tyler J. Steed, who overdosed on them in April 2020. She pled guilty to trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and the other two charges were dropped. (Marietta Times)
- The Mid-Ohio Valley Players will open a production of “The Heiress” this weekend in honor of Women's History Month. The play will run on Mar. 4 - 5 and Mar. 11 - 12 at 8:00 p.m. and on Mar. 13 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are available through The Mid-Ohio Valley Players website or box office. (WTAP)
