- In celebration of the 246 anniversary of the American Revolution, Marietta's Castle plans to host a "Patriots Tour" of the Mound Cemetery. This tour will take participants past the graves of Revolutionary War Veterans, as well as provide historical commentary. The tour will take place on Jul. 1, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and tickets will cost $10. You can learn more here.(Subscription: Marietta Times)
- Independent candidates for November's election, Ann Labes, Jeff Walker, and Alison Arocho were certified by the Washington County Board of Elections on Monday. The first two are candidates for mayor while the third is running for Marietta Auditor. If you are interested in declaring your own candidacy for local office and being on the ballot - your deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Aug. 9. (Subscription: Marietta Times)
- Yesterday morning around 9:15 a.m., four vehicles crashed in downtown Parkersburg. Reports show a truck crashed into three separate vehicles after running a red light at the corner of Fifth and Julianna Streets. Police Lieutenant Edelen informed sources that no one was severely injured or taken to the hospital, although many were inconvenienced. (WTAP)
