On 070621 P65 was dispatched to the Marietta Mills in reference to a male possibly attempting to gain entry into an apartment. The male initially fled the area but was located a short distance away. P65 will be sending the case to the law director’s office for their review.

On 070621 at 1056HRS, P64 was dispatched to 736 Greene Street in reference to a criminal damaging report. Upon arrival, officers made contact with an employee who reviewed the cctv from the apartment complex. The cctv showed a man kick a glass door twice causing damage to the door. A summons will be requested for the identified man to appear for criminal damaging.

On 070621 at 19:16 HRS, P57 was dispatched to Marietta PD headquarters in regards to a stolen hipoint black slim 9mm pistol.

On 070721 P52 was dispatched to 625 Pearl Street reference a disturbance. Taylor Wright was taken to Marietta Memorial for an evaluation and issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

On July 7, 2021 at 1300HRS P66 was dispatched to 700 block of Greene Street in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was found that a mutual physical altercation occurred in the roadway between Brandon Gibbs and Michael Martin. As a result, both parties were issued citations for disorderly conduct by fighting.

On 070921 at around 1230 hrs, P67 performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for fictitious plates. Criminal indicators were observed and P52 with K9 Grando was requested. A free air sniff of the vehicle revealed suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle. It was also learned that the passenger, Andy Ray Lamp, had numerous active warrants for his arrest. He was transported to the Washington County Jail. The suspected meth was seized and will be sent to BCI for chemical testing.

S18 responded to a disturbance at 111 North Hart Street (Marietta Mills) upon arrival, Casey Carpenter ran from the officer and was apprehended. He was charged with obstruction and was taken to jail.

On JULY 9, 2021 at approximately 2247 hrs, S18 was dispatched to 804 Pike St (Walmart) in reference to a shoplifting complaint. It was found that an identified woman had failed to scan multiple items of merchandise. When confronted by Walmart staff she fled the area. The suspect has previously been barred from Walmart stores Nationwide and will therefore also be charged for trespass. Summons will be requested.

On July 10, 2021 at 1400 P52 stopped a Buick Roadmaster for expired plates. During the stop, he used his K9 to perform a vehicle sniff for narcotics, and his K9 indicated on the driver's door. P52 located a purse with an ID inside belonging to Courtney Destifanes, with syringes, baggies, with a crystal-like substance, a burnt spoon, and scales. Destifanes was located a while later, and she admitted the items were hers except for the scales. She was arrested on outstanding warrants and drug charges.

On 07/10/2021, P72 responded to 274 Front Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, P72 met with a female who explained her ex had shown up to get their son and began causing a scene. During the investigation, it was determined the male suspect in the incident damaged a chair belonging to the next-door business. P72 will be completing a criminal damaging report.

On 071121 at 0735 hrs P68 was dispatched to the 200 block of Phillips Street in reference to an abandoned Pacific bicycle. The bike was recovered and is being held at MPD for safekeeping.

On 071121, P72 along with multiple officers responded to Rinks Flea Market, 404 Fort Harmar Drive, in reference to a breaking and entering complaint. Officers from WCSO located the suspects who fled on foot. MPD and WCSO units were able to take both into custody. Glenn Roger Johnson Jr was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with breaking and entering and obstructing official police business. The female Shannah Turpin was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained while fleeing but jailed on the same charges as Johnson, after treatment.

On 07/11/2021, P72 responded to MMH in reference to a male subject that had been pink-slipped walking away from the ER. P72 checked the area but was unable to locate the male subject. A missing person report was completed and information was forwarded to the surrounding agencies.
