On 08/10/21 at 1128HRS P75 and P63 were dispatched to 308 Muskingum Drive for a disturbance, officers resolved the disturbance. During the investigation, an identified individual fled the scene in a vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

On 08/10/21 at 1228HRS P75 and P35 were dispatched to 310 Sixth Street for a wellness check and found a 66-year-old man deceased. No foul play suspected.

On 08/10/21 P60 responded to 1206 County House Lane Apartment E referencing a disturbance. Upon arrival and after investigation, P60 learned the identity of the suspect that damaged a window after an argument took place. The suspect had already then fled the area. A warrant is being requested for criminal damaging.

On 081021 P35 was dispatched to 836 Pike Street apartment 18 in reference to a complaint about stolen checks.

On 08/11/21 at 1146 AM I went to 501 2nd Street where I met with the complainant. She advised me she accidentally left her car doors unlocked sometime after midnight and someone got into her car and took items from it, including an Apple iWatch.

On 081121 at 1427HRS, P64 was dispatched to 112 Knox Street apartment 23 in reference to a syringe pickup. While picking up syringes, officers also found other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. The paraphernalia was transported to the Marietta P.D. and placed into evidence for destruction.

On 081121 at 2:31 P.M., P25 was dispatched to 501 2nd Street in reference to a car being entered and items were taken to include gold jewelry and a laptop computer. Investigated same.

On 081221 P65 was dispatched to the 200 Block of Pike Street in reference to a property destruction of signs complaint. Upon arrival, officers located 3 males, Isreal Hernandez, Darren Wade and Richard Wieber were arrested for the property destruction and taken to the WCJ. There were 3 victim businesses in total.

On 081221 at 1133HRS, P64 was dispatched to 301 Greene Street, Rite Aid, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed CCTV footage from the store. The footage showed a male and female wearing matching orange and gray Marietta High School t-shirts take a hat from the store shelf. The male and female are observed taking the tag ogg the hat and placing the item into the female's bag. The male and female were found and identified. A summons will be requested for theft for both.

On 081221 at 1418HRS, P64 was dispatched to the 100 block of North Fourth Street in reference to a disturbance involving a male and female on the side of the road. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim and Derik Wittekind. After investigation, Wittekind was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 08/13/21 P75 responded to the Betsy Mills Club (300 Fourth Street) in reference to missing items. This incident is still under investigation.

On August 13th, 2021 around 1540HRS P66 was dispatched to 804 Pike Street Walmart in reference to a theft. Suspect was identified but had fled on foot prior to officers' arrival. A warrant will be requested for the suspect for theft.

On August 14th, 2021 at 1800HRS P66 was dispatched to 804 Pike Street in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, P66 spoke with the suspect who admitted to swapping tags for cheaper priced bed sheets. As a result, they will receive a summons for theft.

On 081421 at around 0128 HRS., P67 met with a female at the Marietta P.D. reporting that she was in an altercation with her boyfriend, Jared Scott Shook. Upon further investigation, it was determined that during an argument at Shook's apartment. He allegedly shoved her and struck her in the head. He then threw a BIC lighter at her with enough force that it broke a tooth and cut her lip when it struck her. Shook confessed to throwing the lighter at her, but stated he didn't do it intentionally to strike her. Shook was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 081421 at around 0314 HRS., P67 responded to 510 Front Street in reference to numerous intoxicated subjects arguing. This is still under investigation.

On 081721 AT 1411HRS, P64 was dispatched to 504 Pike Street in reference to a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who advised her front passenger window has broke, and her purse was taken from her vehicle. At this time this case remains under further investigation.
