- Yesterday, Dec. 2, the Washington County Career Center held its annual healthcare career fair for high school juniors and seniors from across the county and Williamstown. More than a dozen local employers in the health and medical fields participated in the fair and gave students some hands-on experience and training for a future career in the industry. The young attendees got the opportunity to try out a patient simulator, explore the world of medical billing and coding, and even simulate surgery on a synthetic cadaver. (WTAP)
- The Marietta Community Foundation has given $200,000 in grant funding to 18 local nonprofits. The Foundation has been increasing the funds they can give out each year so it can help as many local nonprofits as possible. Generally the Foundation receives about 25-30 applications in a cycle.
