- On Friday morning, two Washington County men pleaded guilty to sexual battery and malicious assault charges. Charles L. Augenstein, 68, pleaded guilty to sexual battery and faces a maximum of 60 months. Andrew C. Rowland, 38, pleaded guilty to felonious assault after he stabbed a woman in August 2021. - The Mom Prom is returning in April. The seventh BrAva Mom Prom is scheduled for Apr. 22 a the Washington County Livestock Building at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Tickets go on sale on Feb. 25; 500 tickets will be available. (Subscription: The Marietta Times)
- The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a rate increase at the Washington County Jail during its Thursday morning meeting. The rate is increasing from $68 per bed per day to $83 per bed per day. The sheriff’s office provided six years' worth of analysis of what it costs to keep an inmate at the jail. (Washington News)
