Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. For those looking for a job in the Marietta area, new openings have become available. They include jobs at The Heritage Group, Cornerstone Protection Group, and Patrice & Associates. See the full listing of available opportunities in the link. (Marietta Patch)
  2. A new series at the Campus Martius Museum lets patrons celebrate traditional art forms. Over the weekend, the "Nitty Gritty" series taught a class on using paper to make crafts through traditional materials found at home. Future classes in the series include lessons on weaving, steam power, and timber. (Marietta Times)
  3. The first dispensary in the Marietta area opened on Friday. ‘CANNABIST’ opened in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and is the first dispensary in Wood County. For Ohio citizens, legislation to legalize marijuana will be considered this year. (WTAP-TV)

  • The City of Marietta and the Marietta Fire Department announced the promotion of two officers and the swearing-in of two new members of the Marietta Fire Department. Congratulations to All! (Facebook)
  • Continuing a positive trend for Marietta College's Public Accounting program, all five students from the Spring 2021 capstone seminar secured jobs prior to graduation and are enjoying the early stages of their careers. Since 2014, 82 percent of Marietta's Accounting and Public Accounting graduates have secured full-time accounting positions within three months of graduation. (Facebook)
