Here are the top two stories today in Marietta:
- Marietta Main Street is getting started with the year ahead with a new board. Officials with the non-profit say that the board is more creative with ideas since the start of the pandemic. The non-profit group says that it hopes to build more partnerships with other businesses downtown and that main street will be making a decision about the new executive director sometime soon. - If you're looking for a furry friend to call your own this winter, Marietta animal shelters have pets available for adoption. Currently, many Marietta area shelters are looking to find forever homes for cats, dogs, and other pets. Here's a list of just some of the animals currently looking for a new home. (Marietta Patch)
- Marietta residents ready for a great show are in luck as ABBA Mania comes to The Smoot Theatre in downtown Parkersburg. The show has been described as the best ABBA tribute concert ever and has toured the world for over 12 years. Tickets are still available for the Jan. 28 show at 8 p.m. (WTAP-TV)
