Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:

  1. Marietta City Council was given an update by the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority. The city hopes to purchase a building downtown to host the port authority offices within five years. Additionally, more port authority workers have been hired. (Marietta Times)
  2. The removal of a tree on Ohio 7 may affect Marietta drivers. The tree removal will be taking place between Ohio 807 and Dana Road on County Road 244. Traffic will be regulated by flaggers. (Marietta Times)
  3. Spring maintenance tasks are underway in Marietta, according to Mayor Schlicher. The city is part-way through its "All-Out Roll Out" program, which involves trimming trees, repaving sidewalks, repainting city buildings and crosswalks, and other maintenance repairs. Mayor Schlicher also discussed a "makeover" of Gold Star Park, which involves a new facility, tennis courts, LED lights, and more. (WTAP)
