Here are the top two stories today in Marietta:

  1. Thursday's snowstorm left students out of school and in their homes. All Marietta City Schools, along with other local schools in the area, were closed on Thursday due to the weather. Other local schools were on non-traditional learning days and continued education. (Marietta Times)
  2. Tonight, Marietta’s Mid-Ohio Valley Players is opening “The Spitfire Grill.” The premiere of the show will be at 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Players Theatre at 229 Putnam St. The show will only run this weekend. (Marietta Times)
  3. People’s Bank is helping a Marietta scout with his eagle scout project in the form of a $2,500 donation. Life scout, William Yannitell, will use the donation to construct a battlefield cross at the Gold Star Park in Marietta to symbolize sacrifice and the price of freedom. (WTAP)
