Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. Local schools that do not have their own conference to play in are joining together to launch the Twin State League. Schools from Fort Frye, Warren, Marietta, and Point Pleasant are forming a new conference that will begin play in the 2022-2023 winter basketball season. The newly minted league is currently looking to hire a commissioner and design an official logo. (Marietta Times)
  2. Local weather officials issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Marietta area. The warning went into effect Thursday at 7:00 a.m. and is currently slated to end this morning at 7 a.m. The warning is for heavy winds and rain that could turn into freezing rain or snow. (Marietta Patch)
  3. The Marietta College men's basketball teams swept the rival Muskingum University Muskies on Wednesday. The No. 3 ranked team defeated the Muskies 84-64 to move to a 17-2 standing. They are now 12-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. (Marietta Times)
