On 25 Jul 2021 at approximately 1530 hrs. Deputy Stillson was advised of an assault at 101 Westview Avenue, Marietta, Ohio, to a current inmate, Jeremy O’Brien. O’Brien was observed in a video visit being antagonized by Glenn Johnson. After the video visit O’Brien walked over to where Johnson, John Givens, and Jeffrey Smith were standing and confronted Givens. Johnson approached and began to argue with O’Brien. Smith was observed circling behind O’Brien and was posturing in anticipation of an altercation. During the arguing, Givens struck O’Brien several times in the face, with Johnson joining in striking O’Brien in the face. Smith stayed postured and prepared to join the fight. At one point O’Brien and Givens were fighting alone, with them trading punches at the same time resulting in Givens falling down. Smith ran to the area and punched O’Brien in the face. O’Brien removed himself from the fight making his way towards an exit. Medical attention was administered to O’Brien, who was later transported to a Columbus hospital due to his injuries. John Aaron Givens, age 40, 100 Linwood Avenue, Lot B, Marietta, OH, Glenn Roger Johnson, age 34, 116 Harmar Street, Marietta, OH, and Jeffrey Dwayne Smith, age 26, 1779 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, OH, were all charged with felonious assault.

On 25 Jul 2021 Sgt. Schwendeman responded to Cedarbark Apartments, 10 Browns Road, Marietta, Ohio, in reference to a suspicious male on the property. The male was described as a tall black male, who had been bothering the tenants. The management had advised the subject to leave the property and not to return. Deputies were advised that the subject was believed to be Willie Nash, and that he was believed to be intoxicated. Sgt. Schwendeman was able to confirm Nash was inside an apartment. Nash came outside to speak with law enforcement and appeared to be under the influence of something. Nash’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech slurred and it appeared difficult for him to keep track of the conversation. Nash appeared to have loose marihuana pieces on his shirt, as well as an odor of marihuana on or about his person. Nash was advised that he was not invited to these premises, and would need to contact someone for a ride as he had no driving privileges. Nash left on foot at that time. Approximately 1 hour later OSP dispatch advised that Nash had gone back to the apartments to get his vehicle and was driving south on SR 7. Nash was observed near Tennis Center Drive and a traffic stop was conducted. An empty Busch light beer was lying on the front passenger floorboard, which was not observed earlier. Nash was asked why he was driving the vehicle after being told not to, and he said he was just going back to his hotel. Willie Hays Nash, age 40, 1803 Forest Willow Court, Columbus, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with criminal trespassing, driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs and driving under OVI suspension.

On 25 Jul 2021 deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute. Timothy Moore Jr. was involved in an argument while at his residence at 4625 Veto Road, with the victim. The victim got ready to exit the residence when Moore got in her way and grabbed her by the hair slinging her head around. Moore then was on top of her and would not get up to the point she could not breathe. Moore then got off of the victim and told her not to move. The victim was then able to exit the home and was seated in a vehicle. The victim told Moore she leaving and going in town and Moore insisted on going along. While driving down the road Moore became extremely irate and open hand smacked her in the side of the head and also punched the screen of the radio, shattering it. After completing the investigation Deputy Peters placed Timothy Wesley Moore, Jr., age 44, under arrest for domestic violence. Moore was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
