Class of 1992 Celebrates 20-Year Reunion

For many, 20 years goes by in a flash. As just celebrated its 109th commencement ceremony, , another group celebrated a milestone—20 years out.

Tonight, the Class of 1992 will convene for its 20-year reunion at  in McMurray and at Olive or Twist in Pittsburgh Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

It's a tough feat to keep everyone connected but with a dedicated committee, plans are made. Close friends comprise the '92 reunion committee: Julie Telban (Lehner), Cari Losego (Baumgarten), Elizabeth Schrage and Brian Moffitt.

"Some of us have been close friends since grade school, but all of us have known each other since sixth grade," said Losego. "We had a blast planning and it really brought a lot of people together who haven't seen each other in 20 years."

Both Losego and Telban's mothers attended PTHS—Lynn Hoyle (Fickinger) and Ladonna Galiszewski (Welty)—and now the daughters are raising their children in the township, which is nostalgic, Losego said.

In fact, Hoyle was the first Peters homecoming queen in 1964.

"We have classmates scattered across the U.S., so Facebook and word of mouth was our method in trying to reach as many people as possible," Losego said. "We have classmates coming from Minnesota, Indiana, both North and South Carolina, and Virginia—to name a few.

"So many are putting quite a few miles on the family truckster in order to reconnect with old friends."

Losego said there are a few who are serving, and have served, in the military who are unable to make it. 

"We would all like to share our sincere gratitude for their service and continue to pray for their safety and for their families," she said. 

Many faculty will be attending, including '92 grad Kris Bergman who is currently a staff member.

"I think everyone is looking forward to seeing each other and sharing some good laughs," Losego said. "As far as it being 20 years since graduation? I still feel and act like a teenager sometimes, so it's all good!"
