Olympic Medal Winner, Pittsburgh-Area Native Krueger Coming Home

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - U.S. Olympian and Peters Township native John-Henry Krueger is returning home after competing in the Winter Olympics.

He’ll make an appearance March 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peters Township Library to discuss his training and experiences in Pyeongchang, South Korea. A meet and greet will follow, with fans who bring a camera being able to get their picture taken with the hometown hero. Register for the event by clicking on this link.

Krueger will appear March 23 at 1:40 p.m. at Peters Township High School at part of the PT Athletic Leadership offerings. Students interested in attending can sign up in the athletic office before the event.

Krueger, 22, won the the United States' first individual speed skating medal since 2010, capturing the silver in the men's 1,000-meter short track speed skating competition.

The U.S. Olympic Committee has recognized Krueger's success in PyeongChang by naming him a finalist for the Male Olympic Athlete of the Games award at this year's Team USA Awards Best of the Games.
