1 Dead In Crash That Closed Pittsburgh Parkway East
A crash on the Parkway East proved fatal for a woman early Monday and prompted the highway's closure for several hours.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Parkway East eastbound and westbound lanes have reopened after their closure for several hours Monday morning because of a fatal crash.
The crash occurred around 5:25 a.m. near mile marker 73 near Oakland.
A woman was killed when her car caught fire after it was hit by a pickup truck on the Parkway East on Monday morning.

Around 5:25 a.m., troopers responded to the crash on the parkway near Oakland for a two-vehicle crash.
State police said that a sedan was disabled on the roadway with a woman driver inside. A truck traveling outbound struck stuck the disabled vehicle, which triggered a fire.

The driver of the truck and others at the scene tried to pull the woman from the burning vehicle, but the flames were too intense. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries.
The woman who died was identified at Keturah Griffin, 40, of Monroeville,
