SLIPPERY ROCK, PA — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the deaths of more than a dozen animals at a home in this Butler County town.
Troopers investigating animal cruelty on Monday served a search warrant at a home, where 10 alpacas, a basset hound, a chicken and a duck were found dead. According to a social media post, police said troopers found "obvious signs of neglect and starvation" in all of the animals, whose bodies were rotting.
According to police, the owner surrendered 60 other animals - including a horse, alpacas, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats - which were taken to a shelter in Erie.
