Big Lots Closing More Pittsburgh-Area Stores
Discount retailer is shuttering more stores, including several in the Pittsburgh area. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA —Bankrupt discount retailer Big Lots has announced the closure of nearly 50 more stores and three of them are in the Pittsburgh area. The closures were listed in a bankruptcy court filing last week.
Big Lots recently hired A&G Real Estate Partners, a New York company, to divest 96 store leases in 37 states from its 1,300-store portfolio across the country. The Coraopolis store at 2820 Gracy Center Way was on that divesture list; A&G already has begun the process of auctioning off the leases.

- Monroeville: 4047 William Penn Highway.
- Aliquippa: 3113 Green Garden Road.
- Waynesburg: 110 Greene Plaza
Big Lots has said its stores and online shopping site will continue to operate as usual during the bankruptcy proceedings. The retailer expects to be able to continue to honor gift cards and store credit cards.
Along with the bankruptcy filing, Big Lots has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Nexus Capital Management LP, a Los Angeles-based investment firm.
