Dogs Discarded At Pittsburgh-Area Walmart

LATROBE, PA — The search is on for the person or persons who cruelly abandoned a group of puppies in a box in the parking lot of a Walmart near Pittsburgh.

Thankfully, the canines were discovered and turned over to Action for Animals Humane Society in Latrobe, which is now caring for them.

"These poor pups wouldn't last long out in the heat," a post on the shelter's Facebook stated on Monday. "Thankfully, they are safe at the shelter."

Shelter officials said they will ask Walmart to check its security cameras to see if the abandonment was captured on video. Anyone who witnessed anything is asked to contact the shelter.

The canines have to go through the shelter's medical process before being made available for adoption. The adoption procedures and pricing are available on the shelter's website.

The shelter is now at full capacity. It does not operate a foster program but always accepts donated blue bags of Purina Puppy Chow.
