Former Pittsburgh TV News Anchor Reveals Cancer Battle

A former Pittsburgh TV news anchor has been diagnosed with cancer.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Former Pittsburgh TV news anchor Jay Harris, who now anchors ESPN SportsCenter, has disclosed he is suffering from cancer.

Appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America" Thursday, Harris said he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will undergo surgery next week.

"My doctor is quite optimistic," Harris said. "Per my last scan, nothing has spread, so once we, you know, take out the prostate, hopefully that will be it. That's the goal."
