Health Department Shuts Down Pittsburgh Pizza Place, Bar
The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of a Pittsburgh pizzeria and a city bar.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of a Pittsburgh pizzeria and a bar for health code violations.
Shut down were Fox's Pizza on Woodward Avenue in McKees Rocks and Club Taboo 876 on Bennet Street Center.
An inspection report for the pizza place noted there is an active sewage backup in the basement; sewage was overflowing from all three drains. Shelves containing dry and canned goods were in the affected areas, as well as pizza boxes and a refrigeration unit.

The report also noted the person in charge failed to inform the health department of the sewage backup emergency.
At Club Taboo, an inspector found rodent droppings throughout the kitchen, as well as droppings and nesting material behind the bar. Open rodent bait was found in the basement.

Another violation: food from a non-licensed caterer prepared in a private home was being sold to the public.
Trash was being stored in the wash compartment of the kitchen sink.
The business also is lacking a valid health department operating permit.
A "closed" placard is posted at an establishment when an imminent health hazard is identified at a restaurant or if it has been operating without proper permits. It is unlawful to operate a food facility with a "closed" placard.
