Major DUI Enforcement Effort Occurring In Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH, PA — A major Halloween campaign to prevent impaired driving kicks off this weekend in the Pittsburgh area.

Dubbed "Operation Ghoul Busters," the campaign involves roving patrols by numerous police departments in the city and surrounding suburbs between now and Halloween. Local and state law enforcement agencies will also conduct sustained enforcement activities across the state to deter drivers from getting behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

"As Halloween approaches, we urge everyone to celebrate responsibly. Impaired driving puts lives at risk, and enforcement activities are ramping up to keep our roads safe,” Pennsylvania DUI Association Regional DUI Program Administrator Cathy Tress said in a new release. “Let’s ensure this holiday is filled with fun, not tragedy.”
