PITTSBURGH, PA — Former President Barack Obama will be in Pittsburgh Thursday to begin a campaign tour on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

The Harris campaign has not revealed the location or time of Obama's rally. According to a Reuters report, Obama will speak at the University of Pittsburgh, where he will encourage young voters to support the Democratic ticket and speak on the dangers of returning Donald Trump to the presidency.

Obama's appearance underscores the importance both presidential campaigns are placing on Pennsylvania, a battleground state with 19 Electoral College votes. Trump spoke at a rally in Scranton on Wednesday; Harris is slated to appear in Erie next week. Both candidates and their running mates have made multiple appearances in the Keystone State over the past several months.
