PA Fire Departments Rescue Stranded Duck

FINLEYVILLE, PA — The Carriage Hill Pet Resort had a dilemma.

One of its ducks was stuck on the ice in a pond near the resort. It was there for hours but could not move and was too far from the shore for a safe rescue.

Thankfully, the Jefferson Hills and Elrama fire departments came to the rescue.

Jefferson Hills used an inflatable raft and three different rope systems to get the raft out to the animal and the duck was able to be saved.

According to a social media post, the duck appeared to be grateful.

The Carriage Hill Pet Resort offers animal boarding, daycare and grooming.
