Pittsburgh-Area Man Attempts To Kill Parents: Police

A man in a suburban Pittsburgh community tried to kill his parents Tuesday morning, according to police.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A man attempted to kill his parents early Tuesday in Crafton, Allegheny County police said.

At around 9 a.m., Crafton police were dispatched to an Oregon Drive home for a report of two people who appeared to be assaulted. First responders discovered a man and woman inside the home who were injured; both were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Arrested at the scene was Michael Provenzano, 36, the victims' son. Police say he is responsible for the assault.

Provenzano is charged with two counts of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment.
