PITTSBURGH, PA — One of Pittsburgh's newest restaurants was one of 50 eateries that made The New York Times' America's Best Restaurants 2024 list. Fet-Fisk on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield, which debuted in March, was the only Pittsburgh dining spot on the list and one of only two in Pennsylvania.

Fet-Fisk, a Nordic-inspired restaurant and oyster bar devoted to Appalachian agriculture, was described by the Times as "the restaurant equivalent of a cozy sweater...co-founders Nik Forsberg and Sarah LaPointe have created at atmosphere, and a Nordic-inflected menu, that is refined yet comfortable and unfussy."

As the Times noted, the duo started Fet-Fisk as a pop-up in 2019 and it was so successful that Forsberg was a James Beard Award nominee last year even without a bricks-and-mortar location.
