Popular Pittsburgh Bar To Close If New Home Not Found Quickly: Report
A no-frills Pittsburgh tavern seemingly is in its final days.
PITTSBURGH, PA — When the popular Strip District bar Lefty's announced plans to open a second location on the North Side in August, hints were dropped that the original location on Penn Avenue could close.
The reason cited by Lefty's owner Rick Krist was that his landlord was refusing to renew his lease. That's still the case. Krist told WTAE-TV that he is looking for a new location in the Strip, but as of now Lefty's is slated to close at the end of January.
Lefty's has been in the Strip for the past 18 years.

Krist seemed to be resigned to the possibility of its closure four months ago, writing in the social media post announcing the North Side location: "Our goal now is for two Lefty's, but having one in this great location won't be too bad either."
