Prominent Pittsburgh Sports Personality Dies Suddenly
A person with ties to some of Pittsburgh's most famous professional athletes has died unexpectedly.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Prominent Pittsburgh sports agent Steve Reich, who represented Hall of Fame NHL players such as Mario Lemieux, Ron Francis and Luc Robatille, has died.
Reich, 64, died of a heart attack Sunday while golfing with friends at the South Hills Country Club.
"With heavy hearts, we share the sad news that Steve Reich has passed away," Reich's company, O2K Sports Management, stated on its website.

"Steve was a terrific father, a loyal friend, and exceptional agent and a wise and generous mentor to so many. His impact on our lives and on the lives of those he guided, supported and inspired cannot be overstated."
According to ProHockeyRumors, Reich got into sports management shortly after college. His uncle, Tom Reich, also was an agent and represented baseball greats such as Sammy Sosa, Ken Griffey and former Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis.

Reich was the person who hired Pat Brisson, who currently represents Penguins superstars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
