Prominent Steelers Figure Dies

A well-known Steelers podcaster and writer for the team has died. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A writer and radio personality described online as "an integral contributor" on all Steelers websites died on Wednesday.

Dale Lolley, 56, succumbed to cancer, according to the Steelers website.

In 2014, Lolley was hired to join Steelers Nation Radio, a new project that had the team getting into digital radio. The daily podcast turned out to be a hit with fans.

In September 2022, Lolley joined the Steelers as a contributing writer and editor.

"I've spent more than half of my life covering the team. If I'm not writing about them, I'm talking about them. It's what I do," Lolley said at the time on Steelers.com.

"There have been hundreds of wins and losses, plenty of AFC Championship games, Super Bowl wins and losses along the way. And thousands of stories. At the end of the day, it's always about the stories. It still is."

Lolley also worked at the Oil City Derrick, the Observer-Reporter in Washington and DK Pittsburgh Sports.
