Renowned Pittsburgh Sports Reporter Dies
An award-winning Pittsburgh reporter has died. Patch has the details.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Award-winning Western Pennsylvania journalist Marino Parascenzo has died.
The Franklin Township resident was 95.
According to his obituary, Parascenzo began his career at the Ellwood City Ledger and New Castle News before moving to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as a sportswriter specializing in golf coverage.

He received numerous honors, including the PGA of America Lifetime Achievement Award, recognition from both the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA, and the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, OH.
He also served as a guest lecturer in sports journalism at the University of Pittsburgh and served as past president of the Golf Writers Association of America.
