Restaurant Chain Adding Pittsburgh-Area Location

A growing restaurant chain is about to open a new location in the Pittsburgh area and another one in the next few months.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A fast-casual restaurant chain with multi-state locations is adding a new Pittsburgh location.

Roots Natural Kitchen, which features salads and grain bowls, will open on Jan. 10 in South Fayette at 160 Millers Run Road. To celebrate the opening, customers can enjoy 40 percent off all day on January 10, along with merchandise giveaways.

Founded in 2015, Roots has 15 locations in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina. The current Pittsburgh locations are in Oakland, Ross and Scott.

According to the chain's website, its most popular dish is the El Jefe grain bowl, which contains avocado, black beans, and cilantro lime dressing with charred corn to add a sweet and smoky flavor. It's grilled with adobo chicken for a Southwest feel and also can come with fresh lime and tobasco.

Roots plans to open an additional location in Robinson within the next few months.
